Ever wonder where all the ammo went
This guy is getting ready for the final battle:
Just hope it's not with the ATF since he went public. |
Re: Ever wonder where all the ammo went
That is just but a spec of what mtnman has.

Re: Ever wonder where all the ammo went
That's one helluva stockpile. I'd try, but knowing my luck, I'd end up losing it in a maritime mishap:confused_ma:

Re: Ever wonder where all the ammo went
So he has a large stockpile of ammo. That doesn't mean much if he has spent all his money on ammo and guns and neglected to seek training and practice. Most hoarders are poorly trained and rarely practice. There are always exceptions though and perhaps he is one. Having some ammo on hand is wise, but if you think you need 5K rounds on hand for an event you are out of touch with reality.

Re: Ever wonder where all the ammo went
For me, this is like looking in a bank vault.
Rumor has it that Obongo administration is discussing 500% sales tax on ammo. Should be a fantastic investment over time. Everyone, buy as much ammo as possible. Time is running out. |
Re: Ever wonder where all the ammo went
The only thing I see that much ammo being good for is barter or sale. It would be tough going staying alive in a world where you actually had cause to use that much ammo an humans being.
Excellent point about training. IMO - those who are well-trained in the use of firearms and tactical are probably the types that don't feel they need to go showing of their stockpile on YouTube. |
Re: Ever wonder where all the ammo went
Tell you What! It is being stashed not shot, I live in a semi-rural area and know that the amount of target practice and general shooting is WAAAAY DOWN.....................even at New Years, 4th of July, etc.

Re: Ever wonder where all the ammo went
I stopped about half way through. I got tired of staring at a black screen and listening to his labored speech. I agree that being prepared is a good thing, but what he does with it is what counts. Is he a good shot? How quickly can he lock and load if TSHTF outside his house? I hope he has his bases covered, so he doesn't find himself shot up after firing 3 or 4 rounds from his gun.

Re: Ever wonder where all the ammo went
What bothers me is that training facilities are located all over the country and not all are outrageously expensive. For the cost of one of those ammo cans full of x39 he could go and get a day or two of training on how to actually employ his rifle. Hell, if he is friends with someone who has extensive training like a current military person he could simply have them teach him if they are good at teaching.
Anybody who thinks that they will exchange a few hundred rounds in a firefight is deluded. Self defense situations on average consist of 2 or 3 rounds being fired. If it is red dawn you envision, the invading army would fix your position and eliminate you either through superior tactics or weapons. Extended firefights are internet message board fantasy. |
Re: Ever wonder where all the ammo went
He has a respectable stockpile, but not an impressive one, and he's an idiot for putting it on You Tube. I agree that a stockpile is worthless without the skill (and even luck) to back it up.
It seems most people see a large stockpile and assume the owner is preparing for a massive firefight. I think more are preparing for high ammo prices, interruptions in availability (especially with milsurp), and even the possibility that it might become difficult or impossible to get (although it's likely that any laws that make ammo difficult or impossible to get will also make it hard/illegal to keep showing up at ranges with an endless supply of ammo). Anyway, I, for one, am glad that I stocked up on stuff like .308 when it was a fraction of the price it is today. |
Re: Ever wonder where all the ammo went
Just doing the video made the guy so out of breath I got annoyed with him. His stockpile is ample, but the guy sounded so out of breath doing the video I have my doubts as to him being in any kind of shape for a battle even with paper at the range. Doesn't seem to realize, one well placed round, and all that ammo will belong to someone else. Get in shape dude!

Re: Ever wonder where all the ammo went
If there is another spike in prices
I hope he has the sense to take advantage of it. T |
Re: Ever wonder where all the ammo went
Once you publish security plan A for the world, it is time to go to plan B.
IMO, never open the vault and let the enemy take inventory. Too much pride can incite and invite unwanted scrutiny. I may have shared a few nuggets over the years, but I have no intentions of divulging the tools I intend to utilize in SHTF plan A. |
Re: Ever wonder where all the ammo went
he's not hurting anyone and I think he's doing great. could be blowing money on any number of other "useless" items. heck maybe he is ;) keep on stacking OBM (out of breath man). it's obvious to me he knows about guns, shoots a lot, reloads ammo. and yeah I was looking at the pic of his gal haha

Re: Ever wonder where all the ammo went
That's a "stockpile"? That's hardly enough for 2-3 trips to the range.
